Ladies, a new excuse to get a big purse! What's your new reason? Well big purses are fabulous to stuff your lunches into! I really don't like having to get something when I am out and about, because there are so many unhealthy options at fast food places. Although Subway is an exception to that! Anyways, in the summer where I work, I don't usually have time to go and pick anything up at Subway, so I bring lunches along. And what a great place to stuff your lunches into than a super cute purse! Having a big purse enables me to put my Vitamin Water Zero, my sandwich (salad or whatever I bring that day) and an afternoon snack (such as hard-boiled egg whites (2), orange, and 1 Tablespoon Almonds).
See what a great use a big purse can be! So next time you are out shopping and see a big purse, remind yourself that it will be beneficial for your health! (That is, if you use it to pack lunches of course!)

This blog is basically writings from my heart. Things that are screaming at me to tell others or to simply write down. I hope that you can be encouraged by my rambling and I pray that Christ will untimatley be glorified! Also, this is partly a blog dedicated to health. We should honor Christ by being healthy and being our best, after all, our bodies are His temple. Honor God with your body. For His Glory, Miss Bethany

Great Website
Just found a great website recently! This helps you track all your exercises and food. It is www.myfitnesspal.com
You can track pretty much ANY food you eat and if you cannot pull it up, you are able to manually put the calories in my hand.
It takes seconds to set up and is easy to navigate and learn from! I am loving it :)
More tips and such to come later,
Much Love,
Miss Bethany

5K!
This morning I awoke at five thirty am in order to accomplish one of the things I have had on my goals sheet for a while. I ran a 5k! Now, the distance isn't that bad, but after those intense hills and of course, running fast, it gets a little tiring! But I finished- pretty well actually! I got FIRST place in my division! I was so excited, it was an amazing feeling!
My time was:
23:09
It felt really amazing to be among the top people to cross the finish line. After I was done, I was able to cheer the rest of my siblings and my mom to the end.
It has been a day that I won't ever forget and the red trophy sitting on my dresser will be a reminder of just how far I have come in such a short time. You see, I hated running when I was younger. But after I began running because I knew it was good for me, I really began to enjoy it. Now, I LOVE it! It is the best exercise for me to clear my head and focus on Christ. It also it such a great workout and a fabulous way to challenge yourself!
I loved this 5k and cannot wait for the next one!
Love,
Miss Bethany
ps. Here are just a few pictures from the race, more to come tomorrow.

40 Calorie Frappes!
Craving a Frappe from Starbucks? This is a great fix for that! I prefer mine tasting a lot more like coffee than chocolate or whatever flavoring you like. So if you want to add more flavor to yours, just add whatever flavoring you wish. Just remember that will add to the sugar and calories :)
Here is my recipe:
2 Cups Shaved Ice
1- 1/2 Cups of Brewed Cold Coffee
1 Tsp of Latte Mix (I used French Vanilla)
2 Tsp French Vanilla Creamer
1/2 Tsp Cocoa Powder
1 Tsp Mini Chocolate Chip Morsals (optional)
* Also Could add Fat- Free Whipped Cream to top...(we didn't have any at the time.)
Put everything in blender and give it a whirl. Add in extra coffee or ice depending on what consistency you want!
Split into two cups and enjoy!
Abby and I made this yesterday while going over AWANA paperwork, and liked it a lot. Just remember if you want it sweeter, you are free to add whatever you like:
Such as:
1 Tsp Chocolate Syrup
1 more Tsp of French Vanilla Creamer or Latte Mix
1/2 Tsp more of Cocoa Powder
Or whatever you dream up!
Have fun and make them your own.
And before I foret, here is the nutritional facts:

Sweet Potato Vs. White Potato
Yesterday there was nothing in the house for lunch, so I had to improvise. I went pursuing around the pantry and found, to my delight, that we had sweet potatoes!
Sweet potatoes are so sweet, creamy, and warm, that nothing needs to be added to them when they come out of the oven! Also, I found out they are low in the glycemic index- much lower than a regular potato. This caused me to wonder, 'How much better is a sweet potato for you then a white potato?'
After some digging this is what I found:
White Potato (Medium)
Calories: 128
Fat: 0.2 grams
Fiber: 3 grams
Glycemic Index: 85 (high)
Potassium: 738.3 mG
Vitamin C: 13.25 mG
Vitamin B6: 0.43 mG
Sweet Potato:(medium)
Calories: 103
Fat:0.2 Grams
Fiber: 4 Grams
Glycemic Index: 54 (low)
Potassium:
Vitamin C:
Vitamin B6:
All in all, they are reasonably comparable. However, the sweet potato is more rich in nutrients and is lower on the glycemic index, which is better for you. In case you did not know, the glycemic index indicates how quickly the food that you ate, increases your blood sugar levels. It is better to be on the lower side of things, which in this case, is the sweet potato.
So next time you are thinking about a potato, try a sweet potato, but if you don't like them- don't feel bad!
But, in my case, they are one of my favorite things to eat- just make sure when you eat them, you don't drown the potato in butter and sugar. :)

Running with Abby
I am an avid runner. It is my favorite way to get in exercise and one way I draw closer to my God and my sisters. Abby and I ran tonight for a nice two mile run and wound up taking some crazy pictures!
We had so much fun running and then stopping to take some pics... I thought I would share them with you!
